"Christ is Calling"
By: Janice Jurkovic
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
Everyone who lives on this earth labors. We labor for position, power, and prestige. We labor to get into the “right” schools and to “fit in” with the “right” friends. We push ourselves to do what appears to have purpose in the sight of men but when it comes to Christ, we are callous and careless. Our priorities create pitfalls and our desires make us dull to the divine. But this does not have to be.
Christ is calling.
He is calling all His children to come. Those with heavy burdens, those with imperfect plans, those who are floundering and need a foundation… to rest. Rest in the arms of your Redeemer. Rest in the comfort of Christ. Rest in your salvation and see. See that in Christ you are enough. See that through Christ you can do what He has called you to do. Know that His plans for you have power and purpose. Come to Christ.
Rest in His love and know that He is God.
Moment of Worshipful Reflection:
Listen to "O Come to the Altar" and surrender your day to Jesus. Ask Him to show you where He is calling you. Ask Him to bring you to the altar.
